Training to Be Consistent

Who else throws in the towel after a few weeks of trying something new and seeing zilch for results? Last month, I became a pro at the art of waiting (*this is sarcasm), patiently tapping my foot.😁
This month, I want to embrace the concept of consistency and its crucial role in achieving our life vision, dreams, and goals. It is said that the true way to success is by consistently showing up and that consistency is truly the only route to success.
Do you agree? The pessimist in me wants to refer to the overnight successes and say, "Are you sure?" The optimist knows that even if their success showed up overnight, they still needed consistency to keep that success.
Consistency involves being present regardless of how our life circumstances change.

I believe that for many of us, consistency will lead us to the next stage of our lives.
That means when the wait seems long, we continue to work towards the goal. When it seems like the doors are constantly being shut, we keep searching for doors to knock on until they open. When we are not invited to tables, we start building tables to invite others into.
We remain consistent in the things that we've prayed for until we see them in our lives, and I truly believe we will see them.

So how can we train ourselves to be consistent?
Keep Doing the Hard Things. We engage in activities that we know impact our lives positively. For instance, even if you don't feel like exercising today, understanding that it enhances your mental well-being and energy can motivate you to exercise regardless of your current mood.
Serve one as if it were 1 million. We persist in pursuing the dream as though we have 10 million followers or customers. In other words, even if no one is reading or buying your book, you still wake up and market it as if 10 million copies have been sold.
Keep Going Until You See Your Vision. If we have not seen the harvest, we continue working no matter our emotions until we know the harvest we've been promised is unfolding. Even after the harvest, we keep going.
Keeping a steady routine as a mom of a four-year-old has been a bit of a challenge for me on my journey. There are days when I am simply focused on being Mom, and I forget all about my personal goals and dreams. Yet, they always come back to me, and when they do, I pursue. Consistency can look different for each season of our lives, and that's okay. ❤
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
Galatians 6:9
